Why are Teenagers so Brand Conscious & The pain of paying

May - 22 2017 | no comments | By

When paying with cash it’s more painful for a person because you’re witnessing the pain of the hard work that was put into getting the money. Unlike a credit card you are not witnessing the money leaving your account. Also with a credit card you’re able to pay it later. A debit card it isn’t so painful because you’re just swipe the debit card. When you check your bank account statement and witness how much was taken out of your bank account then it’s painful. The things that teenagers consider cool are apple watch. The simple fact that a company advertise it make the public seen like they need it instead of them wanting it. Even adult want thing that are consider cool , but company often use celebrities to advertise their products. The simple fact that everyone has that brand or brands of shoes makes a person feel left apart or lonely. Company manipulate the public into think that they need that product instead of wanting the product. Company that sell there products to the public often use data to see what people use the most. Some of the bands that are consider cool are nike, adidas, jorden, converse, reebok, vans, and pumas.

Bank of the West

Bank of the West

In our financial algebra class our group decided to get information about the bank. We gather question that would help us understand more about finance that would benefit us once we leave high school. The bank that we contact to ask the branch manager was Bank of the West.

What is the best annual percentage that a person wants when they are compounding annually?

The answer that was given to us was that the higher the percentage the better it for the person that is investing because it will compound much faster. The reason for this is because the feds get together quarterly and what they do is they look at the result of the bank and if people are taking out there money at the same time the they raise the rates.

Will compounding annually change as the rate changes or will it always stay the same?

The rate that you is the one that you will have the reason for this is because of the contract that you have. For example if you have a rate of 5.7% for 20 years it will also compound at that rate even if the rate drops. It both benefit you and not at the same time because if the rate percentage drops then it does not affect you because of the contract, but if it increase then it will not benefit you.

When is a good time to start an IRA account?

According to the research that was done because this question was not asked , but its important that you start as soon as you could.

Conclusion

What I thought of this activity is that is that it was interesting because we got to talk about the bank and with someone that works with the bank. The thing that I enjoyed was that we made up the question and the fact that he was able to answer the question.

Chapter 3

Jamieson- It wasn’t fair that our government was treating them like criminals. That’s why I decided to send a letter to Roosevelt explaining that these people are good people and that they wouldn’t to such a monstrous thing. The Japanese were paying the price that others had committed. I didn’t get any response back from Roosevelt the fact was that it was a lost cost they weren’t going to listen or try to reason with anyone.

Chapter 4

Ken-We had to sell our thing at a cheap price I had mix emotion the government were tell the people lies. It was unfair that we were paying the price I was as shocked as they were of what happened in Pearl Harbor. The fact that they were treating us like we were the enemies was completely not fair my children are US citizen and they have to go through this.

Chapter 11

Yuki- When they transported us to the desert in the night it was cold so I would put on as much cloth as I could. When the heat of the desert arrived there it was so hot , but there was a certain limit because I could not take of my cloth. When Emi started getting sick I thought it was because of the food or her grandmother erbus that she would make when we were not feeling too well. The majority of the time I would not tell her if I was not feel well because I was afraid that she would try to poison me , but there were good people.

Chapter 12

Yuki- I felt horrible that Emi was at the hospital she was sick. The doctors who were taking care of Emi didn’t let anyone see her. I had to see Emi so she could know that she wasn’t alone and that we missed her. So I sneaked into the room that Emi was at it was to easy even if I did have a little fear of mother finding out or even getting caught. When mother told me that no one could see Emi I was devastated. I could not go anywhere to be alone because there would be people so I could not cry.

Chapter 13

Mother- I was shocked and sad that Emi had TB. I had to comfort Mrs. Kurihara with Emi in the hospital. How was Yuki going to react when she finds out that the doctor confirm that Emi had TB. The only words that I could tell Mrs. Kurihara was that the doctors had better medicine to treat TB. I knew that it wasn’t much to comfort her she would try something with her erubs that would help Emi feel better.

Weight Discrimination

Dec - 10 2016 | 1 comment | By

Humans complain how cruel the world has become ,but  the cruel one is  humanity itself. As the world evolves we always find a way to self destruct what has been accomplished. Never being satisfied with each other we go to a never ending cycle of discrimination, but now it has updated to our appearances.

Anything we go as far as seeing imperfections always searching for new ways to hurt one another physical and emotional. One of the thing that people discriminate is weight and the words that are in the top five of the dictionary  fatty, beast, chubby, ball, large are the words that hurt people and each year are being updated in school, homes, and public places.

A lawsuit was made by a waitress against Hooters in Michigan. The waitress name is not mention, but the reason that she was fired because she weight 132 pounds and the manager said that she was overweight. The people who worked with her took  a survey of the way she works and the customers said that she does a great job. The majority of weight discrimination occur with female , but some male are discriminated.  According to Barbara Farfan who wrote an article about Trump’s real estate claims that Trump had a photo of her when she was overweight and every time he was unpleasant with her work he would take the photo of the drawer and remind her of when she was fat. Weight discrimination occurs everywhere but  the problem is when people are naive and ignorant that they rather agree with society way of thinking. There are many cases around the world that deal with weight discrimination , but people fear what others may say.

Every time a person is release from a maximum security prison and is toss back to society it effects not only them, but also society. The reason that it effect them is because of social skill which were lost in the prison’s because the majority of the time the are locked up or isolated. German prison are different they have more freedom and they have decrease the percentage of there prison. In the United States the percent have increase and people who have committed minor crime are sent to maximum security prison because the rest of the prison are fill. The difference between the Untied States and German prison are that the cell are different and the food.

Business Plan Final Reflection

Nov - 08 2016 | no comments | By

Personal Reflection

The small business that we planned and support was about people jaywalking. The reason that we choose this topic out the other ones that we had come up was because its the one that occurs daily. The way that we decided this topic is made a list of subjects or topic that we strongly felt that needed some attention. Don’t get me wrong the other subject that we listed were just as important as this topic because it has to do with helping the community. The process included elimination to make the process of decision much easier. Jaywalking was the one that we decided to go with because not only is this an issues with teens but also its an issue with children who are in elementary, middle school and even adults. Those were the main reason because it can be dangerous for kids who are in elementary to cross the street without look and in the middle of the road because cars can come out of no where and can cause you your life.

Small Business Plan

The business plan was to hire people to help prevent kids and young teen from cross the streets unsafely. Our business would have to make a contract with the police department and the community. The people that we hire would charge the jaywalkers and with that money we would pay the workers and buy shirts with no jaywalking logos so that way the people and the polices department can identified them. Also this would help the police department because that way we can prevent accidents form occurring.

For our advertisement the thing that we did was create a website that explains what we want our business plan to encourages. The advertisement was a Yalp page that has enough information about jaywalking and also examples of what  could occur about jaywalking.

Emotional Wellness

Some emoticons :/

Emotional wellness implies the ability to be aware of and accept your feelings and behaviors, whether they are positive or negative. When it come to dealing with emotion many people have different ways of copping with there emotions. Some people know how to control there emotion whether it anger, sadness or even excitement they also express it differently then others. Some of the ways that I cope with the emotion that I have daily are probably different then other’s and it also depends what emotion i’m try to express.

For example when I’m angry some of the things that I usually do is take a walk around until I clam down for some people it doesn’t work. Another thing that I do is boxing which is one of my favorites because it also helps me release stress and when I’m boxing I forget about my problems. The only thing that I focus is on the punches that I throw and nothing else matter when I’m boxing the emotion disappears. For some people it does work and some people its a passion, but for me it’s not only a way of copping with the angry, but it’s also a hobby.

When I’m feeling down the thing that help me the most is music and its not any music but jazz, 70s songs are the ones that make me relax and feel better. The reason that music help me and some other people is because you get lost in the song and forget what was bring you even if it’s for a while it doesn’t matter at that moment you forget what was bring you down or even why you were angry. Another thing that help’s is ice cream or sometimes walking around places like the park the beach.

When I’m excited its really hard for me to hide it because you can see it in your face but every person has different way of showing there emotion like some people are really good at hiding there emotion and only that person itself knows why they hide there emotions.

financial wellness

Money!

Financial wellness is one of the topic’s that I’ve been trying to work on although in my opinion I have improved.  One of the  bad habits that I had was that I would when I would get payed I would pay things that I wouldn’t need just because I wanted but I didn’t need it.  Another bad habit that I had was that I would pay things that I had for example if I had one pair of speaker I would go to the store and buy knew even if I  had and they worked fined, but just because I want to waste money. Some of the things that I do know is every time I get my paycheck I put 10 percent of my paycheck in the bank.

There are many ways that you can save money and in the long run it will help you with investment for your future because if you want to buy a car you have money of any type of emergency you  have money saved. That money that you have saved will help you in many ways in the long run.

Financial wellness is one the things that many people struggle on in improving because some people have problems on saving money they spend and spend without realizing that it could come and effect you in many ways. The reason saving money doesn’t mean you can’t buy things once in a while it just means that it a good habit to get into when your young.

Also having money save in a bank or in a safe box its better to have it in a safe box, but when there’s a real emergency you have money because you don’t real know when you’ll need the money. Saving money doesn’t mean that you have to get your whole paycheck it just means get $20 through $100 dollars and save it you can start saving small amounts of money.

For example every time I get my paycheck I take in consideration the things that I need to pay like my cell phone bill and others things that you need to pay. The amount that is left over just get $20 or more and save it and the rest of the money you spend it.

The reason that I stayed in the Personal Learning Academy was because it taught me the problems or issues that I need to work on. It also gave me experience on hands on. Some of the things that I enjoy during school is the opportunity to get to know people who come from a different country. The reason that I enjoying meeting new people because I get to learn a bit of there families culture and there values. One of my hobbies that I enjoy and I do daily is boxing because its a good way to take out your anger and stress. Another hobby that I enjoy is paintball and bowling because it it distracts me and I get to spend some time with my friends.
